Optical illusion splits ‘strong-willed and stubborn’ from ‘caring and likeable’ people

Optical illusions can often feel as if they are tricking your mind. However, the pictures and patterns can sometimes be used to reveal a deep truth about the type of person you are.

The illusions can fool or confuse our brains by using colour, light or patters to generate visuals with minds struggling to interrupt the images correctly. Optical illusions can even sometimes trick us into seeing things that may not even be real.

One such illusion that has recently taken social media by storm promises to determine whether you are ‘strong-willed and stubborn’ or ‘caring and likeable’ individual by simply asking what you spot first in a picture, reports the Mirror.

Shared by TikTok creator Mia Yilin, who boasts more than 450,000 followers on the social media platform, the illusion depicts both a set of forks and a wine glass, with viewers asked which one they spot first.

Whichever you notice initially can be truly telling when it comes to your personality, with Mia explaining that the intriguing illusion separates those who are “incredibly determined” from those who “detest mind tricks” and “distance themselves from people”.

The TikToker says: “If you first saw the two forks, then you’re a very stubborn and strong-willed person,” she said. “Once you put your mind to something you don’t look back. You love your freedom and are also quite romantic, but you’d never hold anyone back in the name of love.”

Mia then detailed what it means for you, depending on whether you saw the forks or glass first, explaining: “If you first saw the wine glass, then people constantly want to get close to you because of how caring and likeable you are,” she revealed. However, Mia added that if you saw the wine glass first, you also tend to be extremely picky. She continued: “You’re very selective with your inner circle and not anyone can get in. “You hate people who play mind games and prefer to silently distance yourself over exposing them directing.”

The video was met with lots of comments as people raced to praise Mia’s accuracy. One social media user wrote: “I don’t know the science behind this but you are always accurate. I never saw the folk until you mentioned it. Keep it up, dear”.

Another said: “This is probably the best one yet and possibly most relatable saw the forks first btw”m while a third person added: “Fork. Wow, this is super accurate.”
